The ushering department is the first gate keeper of the church because he is the first contact that people see when they arrive for service and the last to meet on their way out at the end of the service. He represent the face of the church.
An Usher has a true love for the people of the church, he has the desire to promote an atmosphere of reverence and worship in the house of God. He stands ready to assist during worship and service time.
Usher ensures absolute concentration during service time by eliminating distractions of any sort.
The department combines a lot of role together varying from hospitality, welcoming new members, orderly sitting arrangement of members, arranging the bulleting and distribution, collection of offering and its safety, and also ensuring that distractions are avoided during service time. They also help with the Lords supper (Holy Communion)
